Child Poverty Network

The SDSA facilitated a child poverty regional support network for Derby, Derbyshire, Leicester, Leicestershire Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and Rutland.  The network supported the development of high quality Needs Assessments and the subsequent development of effective strategies.  The group’s agendas also included quality assurance and setting of benchmarks; stimulating, engaging and involving statutory partners who have a duty to co-operate; setting up a Community of Practice for the East Midlands; and embedding child poverty within the wider workforce agenda.

The network was established in November 2010 and in addition to local authority Child Poverty leads includes the Child Poverty Unit (CPU), Local Government Improvement and Development (LGID), Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People’s Services (C4EO) and the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC).
